GeoLens: AR Maps
Last updated: July 12, 2026

The short version: GeoLens collects no data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no third-party services, and no servers of our own. Everything the app does happens on your device.

Who we are

GeoLens: AR Maps ("GeoLens", "the app") is developed and published by Mustafa Yazgul, an independent developer. This policy explains what information the app uses and what happens to it.

Data we collect

None. GeoLens does not collect, store on any server, sell, share, or transmit any personal data. We do not use analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or any other third-party SDK. The app has no login, no account system, and no backend: we operate no servers, so there is nowhere for your data to go.

Permissions the app asks for, and why

Location

GeoLens uses your location to work out which neighborhoods, cities, and places are around you and in which direction. Your location is processed on your device. The only time it leaves your device is when the app requests map, place, and geocoding data from Apple's Maps services (Apple frameworks built into iOS), the same way the built-in Maps app does. Those requests go directly from your device to Apple; we never see, receive, or store them. Apple's handling of Maps requests is described in Apple's Privacy Policy and in iOS under Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > About Location Services.

Camera

GeoLens shows labels on top of a live camera view. The camera image is only displayed on your screen in real time. It is never recorded, saved, analyzed for identification, or transmitted anywhere, and the app takes no photos or videos.

Both permissions are optional. If you decline them, the app offers reduced modes where possible (for example, a map view instead of the camera view).

Data stored on your device

Your settings (such as language, appearance, and units) and a small cache of recently fetched place names are stored locally on your device so the app works faster and uses less network. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app.

Children's privacy

GeoLens does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

You can change or revoke the app's Location and Camera permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security. Deleting the app removes all locally stored settings and cache.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behavior ever changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above before the change ships. Since GeoLens collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare.
